Terms and Conditions of the Service

This Agreement is made between Antique Cash Monkey and you, the Customer, accepting it. You must accept the terms and conditions of this Agreement before using the Services or accessing the Website, and your continued use of the Services and Website is conditional on your acceptance of and compliance with these terms.

1. Definitions

        1.      In this agreement (the “Agreement”), the following words will have the following meanings:

        •       “Appraise” means the performance by Antique Cash Monkey of an assessment of an Item, which shall take into account the condition and likely market value of that Item, which shall result in Antique Cash Monkey deciding either to make an Offer or to Reject that Item. “Appraisal” shall be interpreted accordingly.

        •       “Box” means a rigid cardboard box for packaging your items to us.

        •       “Contract” means a legally binding agreement between you and us for the purchase of your Items for the price set out in the Offer communicated to you.

        •       “Customer” or “you/your” means an individual using the Services.

        •       “Force Majeure Event” means any circumstance not within a party’s reasonable control including, without limitation, acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, war, or industrial actions.

        •       “Free Selling Pack” means the pack of items enabling a User to send in Items for Appraisal, sent out in the post following a request on the Website.

        •       “Higher Insurance Tier” refers to additional insurance options based on the tiered value system.

        •       “Item” means an item or group of items you choose to send to us for sale.

        •       “Offer” means a proposal for a price we will pay for your Items.

        •       “Reject” means the decision by Antique Cash Monkey to decline to purchase an Item from you.

        •       “Services” means the service provided by Antique Cash Monkey as described on the Website.

        •       “The Settlement” refers to the amount paid out for a successful claim on our insurance.

        •       “User” means a person accessing the Website.

        •       “Antique Cash Monkey” or “we/us/our” means Antique Cash Monkey, a business registered in the UK with an address at:

Wakehurst Industrial Estate, Wakehurst Road, Ballymena, County Antrim, BT42 3AZ

        •       “Website” means antiquecashmonkey.co.uk including any other web-services or mobile applications through which you may sell your Items to us.

2. These Terms

        1.      We may update this Agreement from time to time. You agree to review the terms each time you use the Services.

        2.      This Agreement applies to individuals acting as private consumers, not businesses or organisations.

        3.      By using our Services, you confirm that:

        •       You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts.

        •       You are the legal owner (or have permission from the owner) of all Items you send to us.

        •       You are at least 18 years of age or have parental consent.

        •       You are based in the UK and Ireland.

        4.      If we find that an Item has been reported lost or stolen, we will notify the authorities.

        5.      Each Customer may create only one account.

        6.      Our Privacy Policy can be found at antiquecashmonkey.co.uk/privacy-policy and is incorporated into this Agreement.

        7.      Calls to and from us may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

3. Items We Accept

We Appraise Items in the following categories:

        •       Jewellery

        •       Watches & Pocket Watches

        •       Medals & Militaria

        •       Coins & Currency

        •       Silver and Silver Plate

        •       Gold 

        •       Vintage Toys

        •       Writing Instruments

        •       Cameras

        •       Political Items

        •       Signage & Advertising

        •       Smoking

If you wish to send fewer than 10 Items, please contact info@antiquecashmonkey.co.uk.

If your Box contains fewer than ten (10) Items that fall into one of the Acceptable Categories listed at 3, we reserve the right to Reject the entire Box.

4. Items We Do Not Accept

We do not accept in our postal packs:

        •       Clothing

        •       Furniture

        •       Printed media (books, magazines)

        •       Fur, Taxidermy, or items made from endangered animals

        •       Modern Electronics (post-1990)

        •       Children’s Toys (modern)

        •       Stamps and First Day Covers

        •       Stainless Steel

        •       Coins (unless sent in bulk of over 5KG)

        •       Fragile items (crockery, crystal, ceramics, etc.)

If you send items we do not accept, we may charge a £13 return fee.

5. Sending Your Items to Us

        1.      Post Office Drop-Off

        •       Use our provided pre-paid postage label.

        •       Obtain a receipt with a tracking number.

        2.      Home Collection

        •       Book a collection via our Website or contact us at 028 2542 2542.

        •       Ensure the courier applies the label in your presence.

        3.      Each Box is insured up to £200 by default. Additional insurance can and will be arranged by contacting our Customer Support team.

6. Appraisals & Offers

        1.      We Appraise Items within 48 hours of receipt.

        2.      If we make an Offer, it is valid for 10 days.

        3.      If you accept, a binding Contract is formed, and ownership of the Items transfers to us.

        4.      If you do not respond within 28 days, your Items may be deemed abandoned.

7. Rejection of Goods

We reserve the right to reject any Item and are not obliged to provide a reason. If your Items are rejected, they will be returned to you free of charge, unless stated otherwise.

  • Where Antique Cash Monkey rejects items that you have sent, then you will be notified by e-mail, and the items will be posted back to the address you registered with us on your account.
  • If a box is rejected by Antique Cash Monkey, the items should arrive back at your home within 5-10 working days.
  • In the event that your items are subsequently returned to us after a delivery is attempted, the items will be held at our facility for a period of 28 days, after which time the Items will be deemed abandoned, and we will seek to dispose of them at our discretion.
  • In the event that your Box arrives with us without any of your details and we do not receive contact from you to verify ownership, we will hold the Items for no less than 28 days. After 28 days, the items will be deemed abandoned, and we will seek to dispose of them at our discretion.

8. Payments to Customers

        •       Payments are made via bank transfer or cheque within 12 hours of acceptance.

        •       Bank transfers may take up to 2 business days to clear.

        •       We are not liable for errors in payment details provided by you.

9. Liability

        •       Claims for lost or damaged Items must be submitted within 28 days.

        •       If your Box is lost, you must provide a valid postage receipt.

        •       Our liability is limited to the Offer price for the Items. We shall not be held liable for any claim of missing or damaged Items that contravene the restricted items list outlined in clause 4.

10. General

        1.      All notices should be sent to info@antiquecashmonkey.co.uk.

        2.      This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the UK and Ireland.
